Rajs' stick
It was just about dinner time when I called the horses up to the barn for their meal. Hearing me they slowly began walking up to the barn, eating along the way. They had just crossed a small creek when
Raj (my 2 year old horse) suddenly went crazy, bolting like he was being chased by the devil. It seemed like the more ground he covered, the faster he ran....straight for the barn and me. As he blew past me at the spead of light and around to the other side of the barn I saw what was chasing him. It was paisty white, and just shy of 5' long, it had attatched itself to his tail, was not letting go. It was the meanest looking stick I have ever seen!:-)
Raj, in his panic nearly ran me over when he jumped around the corner and ran into a stall. Because the stall has no running room he was forced to stop and try to face his attacker. But because he had stopped, so did the stick leaving him in a stall with a strange stick thingy with him. He bent down to inverstigate the very white stick but was suprised when it moved. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't catch the darn stick. Y'all this was one of the funniest things I had ever seen, here I was sitting my barn watching my horse chase his tail! it was better than anything on TV! Finnally, Raj gave up and walked over to the door where I stood and looked at me like: "First I get chased by the devil now this stick won't leave me alone......... Make it better, please". So, I slowly walked into the stall, knowing that if Raj moved too fast, the stick would move too. Reaching down I grabbed the stick and gently pulled it, trying to release rajs' tail. Rajs' head shot up and he began to tense every muscle, fearing that the stick would strike again. But Raj knew better, he knew I would never hurt him and would do anything for him. Finally, after having to get the scissors, he was free from his thorny burden and ready for a good nights rest.
I think we are sometimes like Raj and his stick. We have our own sticks on our tails, they slow us down, scare us, and make us forget about the free love that God is always ready to give. We run in circles trying to loose our burdens, never taking the time to ask our master for help. God is patient though and waits, he never laughs at our struggles or leaves us to fend for ourselves. Finally as a last resort we ask Him for help. He gently lifts those burdens off of you and takes them away. Gods son Jesus lifted the ultiment burden when He died on the cross for our sins. He did all that for you and me, he has become my master and best friend.....how bout's you do you know my Savior?
He loves you and will always love you but it's up to you. How bout' it, can you admit you failures and ask Him to be your savior?
He's waiting.
Thanks for reading!
